This Eastern Air Lines wing badge is stamped on the reverse with L.G. Balfour Company's crest-style "B" mark and "1/10 10K," identifying it as gold-filled, and it measures about 3¼" wide by 1⅛" tall. A dimensional star sits above a heavily ribbed medallion, which holds Eastern's streamlined falcon silhouette in white and silver against a cornflower blue enamel field. Five tiers of swept feathers extend on either side, with polished, rosy leading edges and darker antiqued recesses. The reverse has two straight posts, and a center slotted screw sits beside a tiny pinhole. The falcon device shows some wear and small losses to its white-silver finish, while the blue enamel is otherwise sound. The reverse is lightly toned, with a few scattered spots of oxidation. The star sets this wing apart from the plain versions, and the polished gold-filled build gives it good size and presence for display.
