This tie bar suspends a silhouette airplane charm on a pair of link chains, the classic watch-fob-style mounting popular for airline novelty and service jewelry in the mid-20th century. The airplane is cast in low relief with a stylized bird's head at the nose and the letters "EAL" engraved along the wing — most likely a period abbreviation for Eastern Air Lines. The metal has darkened to an even pewter-gray patina overall, with the raised detail on the airplane's body still crisp and legible, and the chains and clasp mechanism remain fully functional. A distinctive piece of wearable airline memorabilia, equally at home on a watch chain or as a tie accessory
Measures approximately 2.5"x3"
