This is a genuine set of Cuban Air Force pilot's wings from the Second World War era, gilt metal with vividly enameled Cuban coat of arms at center — the sunrise over the sea, the key motif, diagonal blue-and-white striped field, and a royal palm rising from the landscape panel, all bordered in a shield form flanked by full-span, individually feathered gilt wings. Cuban wings of this style were typically produced by Antigua Vilardebó y Riera, a prominent Havana goldsmith house that manufactured the great majority of Cuban military and civil decorations through the Republican period until 1960. The reverse carries a dual push-pin attachment typical of period Cuban-made wings, along with the name "CAÑER" scratched into the metal, likely identifying a former owner or recipient. The gilt shows genuine wear with darkened oxidation around the pin mounts, and the enamel on the coat of arms remains bright and largely intact with only minor edge loss consistent with real age and use.
