1952 John Deere MI Tractor from the Estate of the Late Mr T.K. Davis from Collinsville, Alabama. SN 10957. Restored by the late owner. Produced between 1949 and 1952. The MI is a scarce model. The specialist registry reports only 1,032 production tractors, including 348 for 1952. Production began in November 1949 for the 1950 model year and ended in October 1952. By serial-number sequence, this is among the final 76 MI tractors produced; that does not establish its exact build date. What distinguishes an MI from a regular M? Deere modified the M for industrial work by rotating the rear final-drive housings forward 90 degrees, shortening the front axle uprights, and fitting a fixed-width front axle. These changes lowered the tractor approximately eight inches and tightened its turning radius. The MI also received a fixed drawbar, flatter fenders without strengthening ribs, and longer, straight hydraulic lift arms. Those physical details help establish that a tractor is a factory MI. Carefully restored and cared for by the late owner.
