Pair of handcrafted painted wooden whirligig kinetic toys made by Herbert Burke. Includes a red-painted lumberjack figure with an axe and a green-painted multi-figure design with pinwheel wind-driven mechanisms.
After years in the antiques trade, JB Sexson is retiring, and the inventory and personal pieces he's gathered are now heading to auction. It's a dealer's collection in the best sense: pattern glass and salt-glaze stoneware, vintage cameras and toy trains, 19th-century books and framed engravings, all chosen by someone who knew what was worth picking up.
His personal pieces show a lifelong love of horses. Signed bronzes of Arabian horses, a 2003 U.S. National Champion trophy, boxed Breyer models, and framed equine art run all through the sale. Rounding it out are quality consignments, including a 38-star medallion flag, U.S. proof sets, and Navy optics.

• "The Gift" bronze Arabian horse, signed Carol Merkle
