Group of vintage Burwood Products Company molded dimensional wall plaques, circa 1970s, including large Western frontier/Main Street scenes, a fishing harbor scene with boats and waterfront buildings, and early automobile-themed plaques depicting period motorcars and automotive accessories. Molded and hand-colored composite/plastic construction with deeply dimensional relief. One plaque marked on reverse “1504 / © Burwood Products Company / MCMLXXIII,” dating it to 1973. The large harbor plaque corresponds with Burwood model No. 1504. Burwood was known for molded decorative wall plaques produced in Traverse City, Michigan. The Western streetscape is especially interesting. Burwood advertised a large dimensional “Main Street U.S.A.” composition during the 1970s featuring a hotel, general store, sheriff’s office and related Old West buildings, very much in line with the pieces shown here. Condition: Overall good vintage condition with scattered surface wear, minor losses, discoloration and possible small chips or repairs. Examine photographs carefully due to the numerous projecting molded. 53" is the longest.

Burgess Auctions is pleased to present the Catherine Ross Trust, an exceptional collection of art, sculpture, decorative objects and fine furnishings. It was gathered over decades and displayed throughout the Ross family's approximately 11,000-square-foot Northside Indianapolis residence.
Catherine Ross was an educator, interior designer, businesswoman and civic leader whose eye for design is evident throughout this diverse collection. Together with her husband, noted Indianapolis cardiologist Dr. Edward Ross, she assembled an eclectic group of objects reflecting a lifetime of travel, collecting and appreciation for art, culture and design.
