Original abstract monotype by Arizona artist Mary Ann Sears, titled "Rusticana" in pencil at lower center and signed in pencil at lower right. It has an edition mark at lower left. The composition uses deep violet, plum, and umber grounds cut through by sweeping lines in coral red, teal, yellow, and pink, with metallic gold accents at center right. You can see the embossed plate mark around the image. It is presented under glass in a gilt wood frame with a cobalt blue top mat, a fuchsia inner mat, and a gold fillet. About the artist: Sears was born in Casper, Wyoming on October 23, 1952, raised in Phoenix, and earned a BFA with distinction from Arizona State University in 1975, studying painting and drawing with a minor in dance. Her monoprints are made by rolling oil-based lithographic inks onto plexiglass, drawing into the wet ink, and running the plate through an etching press onto 100% rag paper. Only one impression can be pulled, so each is unique, and she then enhances the dried print with colored pencil and metallic paint. Framed size: 26" x 30" (frame dimensions).
