This is a large decorative reproduction of Camille Pissarro's 1876 Impressionist painting of the garden at Les Mathurins in Pontoise. A curving gravel path leads through a sunlit lawn edged with red-flowering borders toward a large white house with a red roof and chimneys at right. A woman in a white dress stands near a garden globe beside a tall shade tree, with poplars and dense foliage beyond under a bright, cloud-streaked sky. The surface has a raised, canvas-like brushstroke texture. It is presented with a linen liner in a gilt composition frame with beaded and foliate ornament. Framed size: 42" x 30" (frame dimensions).

Pieces from the collection, photographed in the Ross home
Burgess Auctions is pleased to present the Catherine Ross Trust, an exceptional collection of art, sculpture, decorative objects and fine furnishings. It was gathered over decades and displayed throughout the Ross family's approximately 11,000-square-foot Northside Indianapolis residence.
Catherine Ross was an educator, interior designer, businesswoman and civic leader whose eye for design is evident throughout this diverse collection. Together with her husband, noted Indianapolis cardiologist Dr. Edward Ross, she assembled an eclectic group of objects reflecting a lifetime of travel, collecting and appreciation for art, culture and design.
