This pair of Pennsylvania House nightstands is in the traditional Chippendale style, finished in rich cherry. Each has a molded-edge top over a single drawer fitted with brass batwing pulls and a keyhole escutcheon. Below are two cabinet doors with arched raised panels and pierced brass pendant pulls. Fluted canted corners flank the case, and it stands on a molded base with a scalloped apron and ogee bracket feet. Pennsylvania House is well regarded for quality American-made traditional furniture, and this handsome pair offers generous storage for a bedroom, or it can serve as end tables in a living room. Each measures approximately 24" x 18" x 24". Condition: Light surface wear and minor scuffs consistent with use. Please see photos for condition.

Pieces from the collection, photographed in the Ross home
Burgess Auctions is pleased to present the Catherine Ross Trust, an exceptional collection of art, sculpture, decorative objects and fine furnishings. It was gathered over decades and displayed throughout the Ross family's approximately 11,000-square-foot Northside Indianapolis residence.
Catherine Ross was an educator, interior designer, businesswoman and civic leader whose eye for design is evident throughout this diverse collection. Together with her husband, noted Indianapolis cardiologist Dr. Edward Ross, she assembled an eclectic group of objects reflecting a lifetime of travel, collecting and appreciation for art, culture and design.

This is not simply the contents of a house. It is a collection assembled over a lifetime: objects chosen to be lived with, displayed and enjoyed. On October 4, that private collection will be offered to the public.
