Impressive pressed steel toy fire apparatus set, featuring a matching pumper truck and hook and ladder trailer combination. Marked V.F.D. 9, these substantial emergency vehicles display classic red enameled finishes accented by gold pinstriping, intricate lithographed side details, rubber tires, and functional mechanical steering and ladder gearing components.
Both pieces show authentic age-related wear, including scattered paint chips, surface scuffs, and minor oxidation spots consistent with years of play and storage, yet they retain their structural integrity and display presence. A wonderful addition for the serious collector of mid-century pressed steel toys or emergency vehicle memorabilia.
