Exceptional Provenance

Always housed in a climate-controlled storage facility, the vehicle retains an exceptional level of originality, including its factory finishes, interior materials, convertible top, documentation, and accessories. Accompanied by its original window sticker, owner's manuals, and factory spare tire, this Beetle offers collectors the complete ownership experience rarely found in modern automobiles.
Its unique Cyber Green exterior remains one of the New Beetle's most distinctive factory colors and beautifully complements the elegant cream interior.
Historical Significance
Introduced for the 1998 model year, the Volkswagen New Beetle paid tribute to one of the world's most beloved automobiles while incorporating modern engineering, safety, and convenience. Designed with unmistakable styling cues from the original Type 1 Beetle including rounded fenders, circular headlamps, and an iconic domed roofline—the New Beetle became an instant automotive icon in its own right.
The GLS Convertible represented one of the most desirable trim levels, offering premium appointments, a fully automatic power soft top, refined ride quality, and comfort features that made it equally enjoyable as a daily driver or weekend touring car.
Powered by Volkswagen's dependable 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine, the Beetle delivers reliable performance and excellent drivability. Its fully independent MacPherson strut front suspension and carefully tuned rear torsion beam suspension provide a smooth, comfortable ride while maintaining the agile handling characteristics for which Volkswagen has long been recognized.
As surviving low-mileage, one-owner examples become increasingly difficult to find, collector interest in well-preserved New Beetles continues to grow. Original cars retaining their factory documentation and exceptional condition are emerging as highly desirable representatives of Volkswagen's modern era.
Auction Opportunity
Finding a one-owner, 16,500-mile, all-original 2005 Volkswagen New Beetle GLS Convertible is an increasingly rare opportunity. Combining exceptionally low mileage, meticulous climate-controlled preservation, complete original documentation, desirable factory equipment, and one of Volkswagen's most recognizable designs, this outstanding example offers collectors and enthusiasts an opportunity that seldom presents itself.
Whether destined for Volkswagen enthusiast events, modern collector exhibitions, weekend touring, or inclusion in a carefully curated collection of significant modern automobiles, this beautifully preserved New Beetle Convertible stands as an outstanding example of Volkswagen's successful reinterpretation of one of the world's most iconic automobiles.
