First Production John Deere 4240! We’re proud to offer this 1978 John Deere 4240 tractor, verified by the Two Cylinder Club to be the FIRST PRODUCTION 4240 BUILT! Shipped to Marvell, AR by Deere and sold officially as a “used” unit because of it’s participation in several farm shows to promote the introduction of the 40 series.

The tractor is still in use on the farm and is located in Oklahoma doing hay work, selling off site. It’s equipped with a Sound Gard cab and has a Syncro-Range transmission, 3 point, original paint with the wheels being repainted. Sells with the original John Deere quick hitch. Both back tires are fluid filled and the tractor has a complete new AC system done in the Spring of 2026! The seat cushions have some wear but the cab is in overall good condition and has the original John Deere radio, new Goodyear tires all the way around, and 5117 hours that could creep up a little as it is still in use.

A really honest, straight off of the farm tractor that most importantly has a serial number that is iconic now and well into the future. We are only just beginning the collectability of the 30 and 40 series tractors! A lot of upside potential in such an important tractor for the future!

Headlining the week are two extraordinary pieces of tractor history with Case IH’s Providence Magnum 355 and Heartland Magnum 265—two remarkable, one-of-one tractors created especially to commemorate America’s 250th Anniversary. Each represents a unique chapter in the legacy of one of America’s great tractor names.

And that’s only the beginning.

Among the hundreds of tractors crossing the auction block will be International Harvester 1468 Serial No. 501—the very first 1468 ever built—along with an outstanding lineup of classic and collector tractors, automobiles, motorcycles, memorabilia and much more.

Fall Harvest Week will also mark the launch of Aumann Select, our new program created to identify and showcase the best of the best—exceptional tractors and collections that stand apart in quality, significance, originality or restoration.
