N95 respirators filter at least 95% of airborne particles. They are not oil-resistant. The exhalation valve opens automatically when the wearer breaths out to allow breath to exit the mask quickly, keeping the wearer cooler and more comfortable. The valve automatically closes when the wearer inhales to ensure all air breathed in is filtered.
