This Eastern Air Lines half-wing badge measures about 2½" wide by 1" tall. It comes from the "Great Silver Fleet" years, when the airline's falcon roundel was its signature emblem. A single, richly modeled wing sweeps up from a fluted gilt roundel, with layered feathers finished in fine engraved barbs. The center holds a red falcon in a dive, set against light blue and navy enamel, with "EASTERN Air Lines" in gold script across the light blue field. The reverse has two posts wrapped in red felt padding and two rivets, plus a partly legible maker's stamp followed by "1/20 10K," identifying it as gold-filled. The wing's polished surfaces are bright and the enamel is intact, with only light surface marks on the navy field and slight rubbing to the roundel's border. The reverse has a scattering of small oxidation spots and traces of red fibers around the posts. Half wings of this type are fine, highly dimensional insignia, and the falcon roundel is a favorite among collectors of Eastern's earlier years.
