This blue-gray visor cap was worn by a Cuban officer, and it carries the national coat of arms in a silver-toned metal badge on the crown, framed by an open laurel wreath, matching the design used on Cuban pilot and officer insignia of the period. The crown fabric has a woven, denim-like texture, and a wide black mohair band sits above the visor, finished with a gold-toned cord chinstrap secured by two small button-style anchors. The stiff visor is a dull olive-green on the underside, with the outer edge trimmed in black. The badge shows even, untarnished color with crisp detail in the shield and wreath. Wear shows in scattered nap loss and light fraying at the crown seams, a chip in the visor's edge finish, and some discoloration where the chinstrap crosses the band. The cap holds its shape well and displays cleanly on a stand, making a strong pairing with other Cuban aviation insignia from the same era. The cap measures an approximate 12 inches top diameter with a length of 10 inches from the brim to the back of the head.
Hat for sale ONLY. Display stand NOT included.
