This Art Deco-style Eastern Air Lines pin is shaped like a single swept wing trailing from a round emblem. It measures about 2⅞" wide by ¾" tall. The emblem holds the airline's early red falcon diving against a pale aqua field, ringed in dark blue with a fine red border. The wing carries "EASTERN AIR LINES" in white lettering on deep blue enamel, with streamlined speed lines that run out toward the tip. Falcon insignia like this predates the airline's later logos and belongs to the years when Eastern was building its route network. The reverse is plain and unmarked, with a horizontal pin stem and a small safety-style catch, and the silver-tone metal is not marked for content. The enamel is glossy and well preserved, with only minor edge wear, and the reverse shows light toning and fine scratches. Pins from this early period are much harder to find than the later hockey stick pieces.
