This gold-tone Eastern Air Lines wing is a lighter, stamped-metal design of the kind commonly handed out as a souvenir, and it measures about 2¼" wide by ⅔" tall. Five tiers of swept feathers spread from a beaded medallion holding the airline's oval "hockey stick" falcon logo, with the white device set into glossy blue enamel. Below it, a raised plaque carries "EASTERN" in relief lettering that is cast into the gold-tone metal rather than filled with color. The reverse is smooth and unmarked, with a soldered bar-style pin and a hinged catch. The gilt is bright and evenly toned, with only light rubbing on the high points of the feathers, and the enamel is glossy and intact. The reverse shows minor toning and a few small tarnish spots. Bright, well-preserved examples like this are the easiest to enjoy, and the wings recall the small keepsakes given to young passengers in Eastern's Jet Age heyday.
