This gold-tone Eastern Air Lines wing is a lighter-weight, stamped-metal design of the kind commonly given out as a souvenir rather than issued as crew or employee insignia, and it measures about 2¼" wide by ¾" tall. Five tiers of swept feathers spread from a rayed medallion holding the airline's "hockey stick" falcon logo in white on blue enamel, and a small plaque below is filled with blue enamel and lettered "EASTERN." The reverse is smooth and unmarked, with a soldered bar-style pin and a hinged catch. The plating shows honest wear, with the gilt worn back on the leading edges and wing tips, a few small dark oxidation spots, and toning in the beaded border. A small spot of white residue sits on the upper left wing. The enamel is intact and the colors remain bright, with light wear to the white of the logo. Souvenir wings like this were handed to young passengers, so they turn up less often than crew and employee pieces, and they bring back the Jet Age flying experience.
