This cast metal desktop model depicts a Lockheed JetStar in Government of Canada livery, finished in white with a red cheatline, red nose cone, and "CANADA" titles running the length of the fuselage, with the registration "CF-GTX" marked on the tail alongside a Canadian flag. The JetStar is instantly recognizable by its four rear-mounted engines and slipper-style wing tanks, a configuration designed by Lockheed's Kelly Johnson; Transport Canada operated a small fleet of JetStars from 1962 into the 1980s specifically as VIP transport for Canadian prime ministers and visiting dignitaries, with one example — the department's first delivered aircraft — now preserved at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum. The model sits on a black metal display stand shaped to echo the aircraft's swept wing profile, with an approximate length of 18 inches and a wingspan of 14 inches. The paint shows scattered chipping along the wing edges and tail, with the fuselage and nose retaining good gloss and color. A distinctive piece tied to Canada's postwar government aviation history rather than a commercial airline, and a strong complement to any collection built around VIP or head-of-state transport aircraft.
