This round enamel pin carries Eastern Air Lines' classic mid-century identity — the script "Eastern Air Lines" wordmark alongside the airline's stylized red falcon in flight, set against a two-tone blue enamel field, all within a gilt rope-twist border. The pin remains mounted to its original presentation card, stamped "L. G. BALFOUR CO., ATTLEBORO, MASS." — Balfour, a company founded in Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1913, being a longtime maker of class rings, championship rings, and commemorative jewelry, and a common source for mid-century airline service and employee pins. The enamel is bright and largely intact with only light surface scuffing/staining, and the gilt rope border shows soft, even wear. The reverse retains its original screw-post fastener, with the presentation card itself showing expected age-related creasing and toning but remaining largely intact other than the puncture marks associated with the pin and wear at the edges. A handsome piece of Eastern Air Lines' golden-era branding, complete with its maker's card.
Paper measures approximately 2"x2"
