A smaller, more compact rendering of Cuba's national coat of arms, sharing the same core elements as the larger examples in this run — the sunrise-over-key horizon panel, diagonal striped field, and royal palm landscape within the shield, topped by the Phrygian liberty cap and encircled by a laurel and oak wreath. Here the whole design is cast in a single warm gold tone rather than enamel or contrasting metals, giving it a compact, medallion-like character well suited to a small lapel or hat pin. The piece shows genuine age with darkened, oxidized recesses in the wreath and shield details, along with a small area of loss or damage to the gold plating near the top where the base metal shows through. The reverse carries a mounting stud, now showing minor corrosion, typical of period pin-back or stud-post construction.
