This small enameled medal renders Cuba's national coat of arms in full color on one face — the shield divided into three fields showing the sunrise-over-key motif (representing Cuba's position as the "key to the Gulf"), the blue-and-white diagonal stripes symbolizing the island's original administrative divisions, and the royal palm landscape panel, all topped by the Phrygian cap and radiating star, and flanked by laurel and oak branches tied at the base. The reverse is engraved simply with "CUBA" arched over an outline map of the island, with a small key symbol beneath — reinforcing the same key-to-the-Gulf imagery from the front. A jump ring at the top indicates this was worn as a pendant or charm rather than pinned to a uniform. The enamel colors remain vivid with only minor wear, and the silver-tone metal shows light surface scratching on the reverse consistent with genuine handling and age.
