This silver-toned badge carries the Latin motto "PRO PATRIA" ("For the Fatherland") on a banner arcing across the top, above a shield bearing a Cuban landscape motif — a radiating sunburst rising over layered mountain peaks and open water, echoing the sun-and-mountains imagery found on other period Cuban military and patriotic decorations. The shield is flanked by a full laurel and oak wreath, a traditional device denoting honor and civic distinction, with the wreath's stems crossing neatly at the base. The piece shows a deep, even oxidized patina throughout, with the raised relief of the rays, mountains, and wreath leaves standing out nicely against the darkened recesses — honest wear consistent with genuine age. The reverse is plain, without visible maker's marks, and shows a mounting stud typical of period Cuban pin-back construction. A well-preserved example of Cuban patriotic insignia, likely tied to military, civic, or fraternal service given the "Pro Patria" motto and landscape emblem shared with other decorations of the era.
