This elongated bar badge spells out "AMERICAN AIRLINES" in raised gold lettering across a deep blue enamel field, with the eagle rising between two block letter A's mounted prominently at center, breaking the text and echoing the airline's signature emblem. The blue enamel shows an attractive aged, mottled patina rather than a flat uniform color, consistent with genuine age rather than a modern reproduction. The reverse carries a horizontal pin-back closure, present and functional, with visible tarnish and oxidation typical of period brass.
