This piece bears the department title "ASS'T GEN'L FOREMAN" on its enamel banner, marking it as insignia worn by staff in American Airlines. It carries the familiar eagle-and-block-letter "AA" design, the sculpted eagle rising between two capital A's atop full-span wings, cast in bronze with a rich, darkened patina that highlights the raised detail in the feathers and lettering. "ASS'T GEN'L FOREMAN" is spelled out in gold toned lettering across a deep blue enamel banner below the wings. The reverse shows a pin-back closure with the steel pin intact, and there's noticeable oxidation and darkening to the metal on the back consistent with genuine age. This is a great find for a serious airline insignia collection.
