This Lockheed F-117 Stealth Patriotic Fighter Jet model, made by Franklin Mint Precision Models, is a legendary piece of unforgettable American Air Force aviation history. In the original box and internal packaging, this American icon comes with its own stand labeled "F-117 Stealth Patriotic Fighter 0787/3,500." This model showcases the renowned "patriotic" paint job on the underside of the jet and the famous "782" on the tail. This stealth jet model is in excellent condition and measures approximately 16" nose to tail and 11" wing to wing. The original box shows some signs of wear associated with storage and measures approximately 21" x 14.5" x 7".
The F-117 Nighthawk was the world's first operational stealth aircraft and inspired UFO rumors during its testing phase. It first saw combat in 1989 Panama and was utilized again in Operation Desert Shield/Storm. The F-117 was retired in 2008. The specific jet this was modeled after had tail number 782 and had the American flag hand-painted across its underbelly to celebrate American airpower. It was showcased during special events and air shows before moving to Holloman Air Force.
