A compelling pairing of two significant decorative objects. The first is an Arts & Crafts period brass adjustable desk lamp featuring a signed Quezal iridescent gold art glass bell-form shade — Quezal Art Glass and Decorating Company of Brooklyn, New York produced iridescent art glass from 1901 to 1924 in direct competition with Tiffany Studios, and their signed shades are actively collected and consistently strong at auction. The warm amber-gold iridescence and ribbed bell form are characteristic of Quezal's finest production. The brass base presents a tiered stepped form with articulated adjustable arm and original cloth-wrapped cord. Shade damage is present and noted — preview strongly recommended for condition assessment, The second piece is a large circular Middle Eastern charger on display stand, the walnut-toned wood surface densely inlaid overall with an intricate geometric Islamic pattern in bone or mother-of-pearl — thousands of individually set pieces creating a mesmerizing all-over mosaic of extraordinary patience and craftsmanship. This type of dense geometric bone inlay work is associated with the finest Syrian and Egyptian decorative wood traditions
