A striking and genuinely scarce uniform cap badge from Eastern Air Lines' classic Falcon era, crafted in gold-filled metal (1/20 10K) by The Wallace Co., Inc. of Providence, Rhode Island. The obverse presents an elaborate sunburst form with deeply striated radiating rays terminating in pointed tips, framing a central enamel roundel divided diagonally into light blue and deep navy fields — the light blue portion bearing the bold gold block lettering "EASTERN" above the cursive script "Air Lines," while the navy field displays Eastern's celebrated Falcon in rich burgundy-red enamel with a white speed line, wings swept back in full flight. The reverse is stamped "THE WALLACE CO. INC. / PROV. R.I. / 1/20 10K," confirming gold-filled construction, and retains its original central screw post; the nut is absent. Eastern Air Lines, founded by aviation pioneer Eddie Rickenbacker and long one of the dominant carriers of the Eastern Seaboard, used the Falcon as its signature symbol throughout the postwar golden age of commercial aviation — the era of Constellation and DC-7 service — before retiring the imagery in favor of more modernist branding in the 1960s. Cap badges bearing the full Falcon roundel in this sunburst format are seldom encountered and represent Eastern at the height of its mid-century prestige.

7. The purchaser agrees to pay all reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred by the auction company in the collection of funds. The purchaser also agrees that a fee of 2% per month is added to the balance of any unpaid balance due the auction company and any other costs or losses incurred by the purchaser's failure to adhere to these terms. Any debt collection or dispute proceedings will be heard in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
8. The auctioneer has the sole discretion to advance the bidding and may reject a nominal advance, should it in his estimation prove injurious to the auction. The auctioneer shall be the final judge in all bidding disputes and shall name a bidder as the purchaser.
9. The auction company shall not be held responsible for any 'missed' bids or bids unseen by the auctioneer. Bid Retractions ARE NOT ALLOWED! Bid ONLY on items you wish to purchase!

No charge back or refund will be allowed! Items not removed by the time listed for pick up MAY be charged a fee ($25 'Local Pickup' / $5 Small Items) to be placed in storage. For any placed in storage, a $10 per day storage fee will be charged. All storage fees must be paid prior to pick up or shipping. Any item not picked up or shipping arraignments made by the buyer within 30 days of auction will be forfeited and sold or donated.
