A complete and intact vintage uniform tie bar and pendant chain set from Colonial Airlines, Inc., the New York and Montreal-based trunk carrier operating from 1928 until its merger into Eastern Air Lines on June 1, 1956. The set comprises three connected components: a streamlined gold-filled tie bar with diamond-shaped wire keeper, suspending a gold curb-link chain from both ends, from which hangs a miniature Colonial Airlines wings pendant bearing the airline's green enamel swept-wing aircraft logo disc surmounted by a five-pointed star — an elegant and complete uniform accessory of the period. The tie bar is stamped "1/20 12K G.F. / BALFOUR" on the reverse, confirming manufacture by the L.G. Balfour Company of Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1/20 12K gold-filled construction; the wings pendant is separately stamped "1/10 10K G.F.", a slightly higher gold-filled grade for the decorative centerpiece — a noted Balfour production practice of the era. All components remain connected and functional. Country of Origin: United States. 7. The purchaser agrees to pay all reasonable attorney fees and costs incurred by the auction company in the collection of funds. The purchaser also agrees that a fee of 2% per month is added to the balance of any unpaid balance due the auction company and any other costs or losses incurred by the purchaser's failure to adhere to these terms. Any debt collection or dispute proceedings will be heard in Spartanburg County, South Carolina.
8. The auctioneer has the sole discretion to advance the bidding and may reject a nominal advance, should it in his estimation prove injurious to the auction. The auctioneer shall be the final judge in all bidding disputes and shall name a bidder as the purchaser.
9. The auction company shall not be held responsible for any 'missed' bids or bids unseen by the auctioneer. Bid Retractions ARE NOT ALLOWED! Bid ONLY on items you wish to purchase!

No charge back or refund will be allowed! Items not removed by the time listed for pick up MAY be charged a fee ($25 'Local Pickup' / $5 Small Items) to be placed in storage. For any placed in storage, a $10 per day storage fee will be charged. All storage fees must be paid prior to pick up or shipping.
