Tract 1: Be prepared to be blown away at the beauty of this fully restored Victorian home built in the Mid-1800s. The home is 3,930 square feet. - Grand staircase upon the entry of the home (with an additional staircase in the back)
- 12 foot ceilings
- 5 of the original ten fireplaces are still in tact
- Restored hardwood floors on the main level
- 1/2 bath on the main level with an original stained glass window from the Valderes, Wisconsin Lutheran Church C1857
- Four large rooms and a kitchen on the main floor
- All chandeliers are still in use
- Brass gas lamp in the front foyer from an old Indiana firehouse
- Upstairs features 4 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom
- Renovated detached garage gives the appearance of yesteryear with it's limestone and cedar siding
If these walls could talk:
In researching this house, it was uncovered that the original house was built in 1857. It was sold in 1866 to a man out of Ohio who then constructed the large addition we now see in 1873. This addition increased the house's capacity fourfold. The house was sold again in 1879 and remained with the same family until 1917. The house underwent a five year restoration that completed in 1972. In the spring of 2005, the current owner bought the house and began a major restoration preserving the house to what you see now! The 1920s hardwood floors were restored. All the chandeliers have remained in use in the house. There's a brass gas lamp in the front foyer that originated from an old Indiana firehouse. The bathroom lights upstairs were originally gas lamps from a San Francisco hotel. Behind the house, there was once a wood porch and sunken cistern, but now stands a beautiful red brick courtyard. Red brick pavers have been places in a weave design for sidewalks around and leading up to the home. Brick pillars border the property enhancing the wrought iron fencing. The wooden front porch was completely removed, elevated, and rebuilt using old fashioned square nails to maintain the historic era. A handicapped ramp was also added along the east side
**Please note that some pictures are from 2024 while it was occupied as a law office and some are more current now that it's being sold. Items pictured may have been removed from the home. It's in the best interest of the potential buyer to attend one of the open houses and personally inspect the property.
